Stripped to the essence.
The skull sits quiet, stripped to its essence — a reminder that beneath everything, we are the same.
Across cultures and centuries, the skull has carried meaning far beyond the macabre. In Mexican tradition, it celebrates life and honors the departed. In Buddhist practice, it whispers: live fully, your time is precious. Some wear the skull as a symbol of transformation — shedding what no longer serves. Others as quiet rebellion, a refusal to fear what's inevitable.
This pendant is carved from silver maple (Acer saccharinum) — pale, creamy tones with a subtle shimmer that catches the light. Lighter than its cousins, with a soft glow that feels almost otherworldly. The finish is natural tung oil, pressed from the seeds of the tung tree. It soaks into the grain, protecting the wood from moisture while bringing out its gentle sheen. No lacquer, no plastic coating — just wood and oil, the way it's been done for centuries.
