The owl watches from the branch, seeing what others miss.
Silent wings, sharp eyes, patient stillness. Across cultures, the owl carries ancient weight — in Greek tradition, it flew beside Athena as a symbol of wisdom. To many Indigenous peoples, it serves as a messenger between worlds. Some see the owl as a guardian of secrets, others as a guide through darkness. It asks: what do you know that you haven't admitted yet?
This pendant is carved from wengé wood (Millettia laurentii) — deep, dark brown with fine black streaks that create a striking, almost hypnotic grain pattern. Dense and smooth, with a richness that feels both ancient and timeless. The finish is natural tung oil, pressed from the seeds of the tung tree. It soaks into the grain, protecting the wood from moisture while bringing out its dramatic contrast. No lacquer, no plastic coating — just wood and oil, the way it's been done for centuries.
