Dissolution
In alchemy, transformation begins with dissolution—the death that must happen before anything new can be born.
You don't skip this part. You can't rush through it or bypass it with positive thinking. The skull knows: sometimes you have to let everything fall apart so something truer can take its place.
This isn't morbid. It's honest. Death and rebirth aren't opposites—they're partners in the same process. The snake sheds its skin. The phoenix burns. You release what you've outgrown and become what you're meant to be next.
Wengé itself embodies this transformation—dark, dense, impossibly rich. A reminder that the darkest stages hold the deepest power.
For the ones in transition. The alchemists. The ones brave enough to let the old version die.
Carved from wengé (Millettia laurentii)—a rare African hardwood prized for its deep chocolate-brown to near-black color and fine, tight grain. The wood's natural density takes a high polish, giving the skull a smooth, almost stone-like finish. Wengé darkens with age, becoming richer and deeper over time—continuing its own transformation. Finished with tung oil that enhances the wood's dramatic color while protecting it and allowing natural aging.
